M6er's help needed

When dumping the clutch at 2500 rpm's there is this thud from under the console (hard enuff that I can hear my change jingle in my cup holder) and the shifter jerks what seems to be about 3". I thought this to be a broke tranny mount, so I swapped it. But nothing changed. Still got that thump from under the car.

My car originally had an A4 and I swap in a M6. So I don't know what is considered normal for these cars.

Is everything copesetic with the torque arm? Make sure that it is securely bolted into its mount at the tailshaft of the transmission. I lost that bolt once and when I accelerated the torque arm would hit the underside of the car making a sound like you are describing.

do you have headers? May want to check your motor mounts. Saggy mounts can cause the same condition. Good luck. -Rob

Wow, is there anything that it could not be? So, is it normal for the shifter to move like that?

My car does kinda the same thing, I can let off the gas and then get back on the gas just a little bit and I always hear a small klunk noise (from the rear?) and my shifter moves around just a bit, figured it was normal but now I'm not so sure.

Sounds like a torque arm problem to me if you're sure it's not a broken tranny mount.

OK, now ya'll got me thinking.(Which normally is not a good thing) I have not been back under the car yet but I have a theory. Could something possible be loose or worn in the rear suspension causing the rearend to twist forcing up on the torque arm making the tranny move? Hey, that actually sounds pretty good . I might be on to something here! But what could be loose in the rear suspension causing such a problem?

Bad U-joint or bent driveshaft could do it too, atleast it did on mine. Take off the DS and check it.

Update:

I have changed out the drive shaft for a ls1 shaft and installed a ES tranny mount. Still have the same problem. I'm lost someone please help me. Everytime I dump that clutch I am afraid I'm going to break something.

On a side note, that ls1 shaft smoothed out all my vibration problems.
