M6 or a stall?

Well, I havea choice in front of me, an M6 or a stall, PT3600 style. I am not looking to be a track queen, I am not looking to be the fastest car out there, I do miss my old 5 speed 1LE, but this is my daily driver. I want opinions. Thanks!

If its mainly a track car then i would say go with the auto with a stall. But if its a street car i would say go with the m6. I love rowing through the gears real fast.

M6 is way way more fun to drive obviously. But for consistency and ease of use it's auto with a stall all the way. Plus an auto/stall combo will beat an M6 driver almost every time considering everything else about the cars is the same, even a good driver. Also a thing to consider is if you do a lot of city driving, an M6 gets old in a hurry.

My last car(r.i.p.) was a 97z with full boltons and a 3k stall and I'll take my ta anyday of the week. The ta is MUCH MUCH more enjoyable to drive than my 97 though at times I miss it but that's not often . If I were you I would positively swap the m6 in unless your car is a track queen and all you're concerned about is getting every last bit out of it.

Go with the stall. I think its one of the best mods i have done so far. Also get a trannycooler.

I did the 6-speed swap, and I love it, a whole different car

But I've never driven a camaro w/a stall so i have no frame of reference

I have an M6 and for the street I woudn't want anything else. You gotta love rowing through the gears However, when it comes to the strip, automatics will almost always be more consistant, but still they just aren't as fun to drive imo.

How could you own a sports car, and not have a manual transmission? Just my opinion of coarse. Flame away, but I would find it extremely boring doing a 1/4 mile with an auto, even if you trapped 110+

If it's a daily driver, you will NEVER regret the choice of a M6, unless you are in bumper to bumper stop and go traffic all day.

Doing the 1/4 in a 125mph is alot of fun in a auto if you ask me Once you turn the power on it never stops pullin.

I have both a M6 car and A4 I drive the A4 car daily and it is the fast one with a 3,200 stall.

I drove the Camaro this week for 3 days and couldnt wait to get back in the TA.. Even thought I did enjoy banging the gears and all. I really only like the M6 out a curvy back road,or auto/x event.

Six speeds are fun..good from rollons.hard to launch, you need to mess with clutches..they do lose less power to driveline loss though.Autos are great for drag racing, stalls work well ,no cluthes no missed shifts unless you are doing full manual stuff.
I say auto and stall and maybe a bit less stall and bit more gear if the car isn't much of a highway car..like 3200 stall and 3.73 gears.
And as for being the fastest car..well you must live in very small towns..we have barely street legal race cars running around my city.

Man you are comparing a 14 second 3'rd gen to a 11 second 4'th, DUHHH you can't wait to get back to the fast one. Being an auto has nothing to do with it... I'm telling you right now, M6 is the way to go. Albeit you will never be able to launch as good as a properly set up cam/stall automatic, you have 2 extra gears to play with, less drivetrain loss, better gas mileage, and honestly I don't feel like I'm in a fast car unless it's a stick. When an auto set up for the strip starts running out of steam the M6 will keep pulling hard. I love holding gears around turns, downshifting etc. etc. M6 gets my vote, especially since we have such a kickass tranny for our manual cars.

this is the oldest rivalry know to the f body community.

first off go with the stall and im a m6 saying this and a real high stall is not take bd on daily driving if you can get someone to tune torqe coverter to lock up, it makes it alot more drivable.

my buddy had a 4500 stall. and before the tuning it was bad, but we worked with it and made it very daily drivable.

my whole thing with the atuo tranny are realiablity its not to good. but sence you got the tranny just get the stall, dont try to do the m6 swap. but if you wont see much track and you like the feel of a m6 go ahead. but if not dont do it your money can be spent else where on the car.
