AS&M/Rksport header ?'s

My AS&M headers will be coming in the mail in about a week, and I have read before that O2 extensions are nessesary for one or both of the O2 sensors on an OBD1 car(can't remember which side). Can anyone confirm this? Can you guys give me any tips for the dipstick? Can/should I use the stock one? Where can I get a replacement if needed? I've heard the dipstick is a real pain on these headers.

BTW, This will be the most difficult thing I've ever done on a car so any information you can give me is VERY appreciated. Thank you.

I just installed my AS&M headers last Sunday and can answer both those questions.

I didn't need extensions for either O2 sensor on my 94. Both wires were tight with little slack. But they were OK.

The Dipstick was a pain in the *** but it was my fault. The directions said to install the dipstick before you bolt the header to the head. I didn't and I paid. The dipstick won't go in once you bolt the header to the head. The dipstick mount bracket gets in the way. I ended up cutting it off and straping the dipstick tube to the header tube with a hose clamp.

FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!

I've got RK sports and I had to extend the driver's side O2. I bought mine used so I didn't have the instructions. Guess what I did? I bolted the header on first then tried the dipstick tube. Major PITA but I can tell you that it will go in with the header bolted up.

You don't need O2 extensions. All you have to do is disconect the O2 harness from the mounting bracket on the driverside to allow more slack. As for the dipstick... Do what "RE AND CHERYL" said. If it's still a problem cut off the mounting bracket, it's not needed.

I never used extensions and can certainly vouched for the PITA dipstick tube. I finally paid someone to put it in and it looks great.
