AS&M or RK Sport Headers

Just wondering if anyone has any reviews on these headers and also a sound clip would be great if you have one. Got a set of these coming and just wanted to hear what people have to say and hear how they sound.

Thanks,
Matt

The RK sport headers are a copy of the ASM headers. I had some ASM headers on my car about 10 years ago and they were nice. I switched to TPIS long tubes when I did my cam & heads.

I run the AS&M's on my 800HP nitrous setup. I got them very cheap from a buddy, after he made over 900HP with them on a blown 383 in his 30th SS. They are now over 11 years old, and the HPC coating is relatively intact, with some minor rust bubbles around the weld spatter areas. Not even a lot of rust where an EGT bung was welded on after the coating. Never a problem with leaks, and I don't find the plug changes too bad. The collector on the drivers side was modified so the collector points straight back for true duals, rather than connecting to the AS&M Y-pipe.

ATTENTION! DO NOT GET THESE HEADERS! Power is good, ground clearance good of course, and sound is good but plug access is ATROCIOUS unless you have a lift perhaps. You will spend hours trying to get at least three plugs out/in. It is difficult to get a socket on a several of them because the socket will hit the pipes. Also the nuts that connect the collector/y-pipe (I had Random Tech) are very close to the pipe itself so if you need to get to your tranny or other stuff you will have a hard time. Go with headers that give you good plug access. Then you can change them out more often without the headaches. JMO
