M&R Engines

anybody ever heard of these guys there out of California claims hes built for nascar and has been building motors for the passed 20 years i saw this ad on ebay and was thinking about ordering one of these

i called and asked him about it sais he uses eagle stuff but has a different brand name all forged though and has a year warranty

What he has listed is on old school SBC - not an LT1. I would see what you could get from Golan or Scoggin-Dickey. Even better build it yourself - working on the LT1 isn't very much different than the old SBC's.

i called today he sais hell do an lt1 for the same price i know an lt1 is a one piece rear main seal setupwith reverse flow cooling and an optispark cause the engine is stuffed halfway under the wiper cowl can use any rotating assembly from 86 to 97

Parts don't always interchange, but the steps and procedures are essentially the same.
Unlike the LS1/LS2 that is entirely different and requires special tools

yea that is true, i spoke with him on the phone he sounded very knowledgeable im going to ask more questions when i order it

I don't think I'd order a shortblock from a bottom-dollar E-bay guy.

Too much of a gamble.

Check Golen out. A few hundred more, but more a known name.

A worthwhile build including new crank should be $2000 in parts for the rotating assembly. Lots of guys are in a big urry to build shortblocks that are a step BACKWARDS from stock.

yea very true i asked him for a parts list and its all 4340 stuff with forged keith black cnc pistons he said they were ross pistons with a different name on them
