Question lunati cam?

what kinda gains should i plan by swaping the cam in a stock lt-1 6-speed car?

and is it a safe move with 180k miles?

i was looking at the LUNATI #60121LK Voodoo LT1 LT4 270/278

Welcome to the forum!

You can't really go by mileage to assess the engine. At 180,000 miles the engine is certainly tired but you can estimate just how tired it is by doing a compression test and a leakdown test.

Truth be told, I couldn't recommend throwing a cam in that engine. I'd want to rebuild the bottom end to make sure it can spin the way you want it to without spinning a bearing or throwing a rod. Again, that's my opinion, someone will have a gazillion mile engine that held up just fine.
