LT's and a cutout...

i just got my cutout installed the other day. i personally think it sounds good at lower rpms, but as soon as it get in the upper rpms it starts to sound a bit nasty.... i was just wondering what yall with this setup think of it.... both in the sound and performance...

Longtubes with a cutout will be a big difference in both sound and performance. It'll sound really raw and aggressive plus give you a good hp gain. Go for it man.

Get a hooker muffler, the higher the RPM's the better it sounds.

I'm thinkin about doin LT's w a cut-out and just running a hooker muffler. My friend has LT's and ran it w open headers for a few days and it was the sweetest thing i had ever heard before. id say do it for sure. cant wait till i can get enouph money to do it to mine.

I just installed mine today!
Good God that thing is loud! And I think it sounds too raspy for daily driving, which is why I got an electric cutout. Only use it when you need it. I can definitely tell a SOTP difference with it open. The sound at 2.5K rpm is not pretty, it pops a lot and is kinda high pitched, but I guess I'll get used to it. Maybe it sounds better from outside the car?
I think the Y-Pipe makes it resonate, thus making it sound different than just straight open headers. Now twin cutouts would rule but ground clearance would suck.

Actually it's not bad at all, I have never had them scrape or rub on anything.
