LT's and AIR Tubes
LT's and AIR Tubes
Ok so I'm about to take me stock manifolds off, the quesiton I have is theres an air tube that goes from the back of the intake to the manifold, and I can't seem to get to the bolt on the manifold end(underneath it) so my question is can I just cut it? and is there even a spot on Hooker LT's for the tube to be reconnected if I do get it removed?
The tube that goes from the back of the intake manifold to the passenger side exhaust manifold? Thats the EGR tube, and you don't need it because the Hooker LT's don't have provisions for it. Just make a block off plate for it on the back of the intake manifold.
I was going to post an original thread asking about this, but you guys are just touching on the topic here:
I'm looking at getting Hooker LTs, and am trying to figure out what provisions they DO have when used with an ORY. No EGR, no air pump... They gotta have O2 sensors yet, right? It seems like a lot of changes are necessary. Does anybody know how long the serpentine belt without the air pump will be, or is there an filler pulley that will take up the slack of the stock belt? Thanks for any assistance possible!

Hooker LT's don't have anything on them, no 02 bungs, no AIR or EGR provisions. I got 02 bungs fitted on by Thunder Racing on mine. You'll also need 02 extentions.
Yeah, AIR pump goes bye-bye. Remove all the tubing, the pump itself, and you'll free up like 25 pounds. But leave the fuse in, otherwise you'll throw a SES light.
Other than gaskets, new bolts, and a y-pipe, you're pretty much set. Oh, for LT's, I'd sugguest getting over-the-valve-cover wires, otherwise you might have a problem with burning plug wires. That and maybe some Taylor spark plug wire boot protectors for extra insurance.
