lt5?
Yes.... and it has nothing to do with the LT1 or LT4. It was a custom OHC smallblock for the 4th Gen ZR1 Corvettes, designed by Lotus and built by Mercury Marine in Stillwater OK. Tempremental, several design flaws, and grossly overpriced because of the limited production and complete lack of aftermarket part and replacement parts.

one came into the dealer where i worked and i cost them like $600-700 to just buy spark plugwires!!!!!!!!!it did have some get up for an older car though.im proud to say i've actually driven one lol.
LT5 will not fit in a f-body. Way too wide to clear the shock towers. As to reliability, the LT5 itself is virtually bullet proof, the issues come from the accessories, which are also what limit it's rev range. Also, the fuel pumps were known to fail semi frequently and were really, really expensive to replace.
