Lt4's worth it ?

Look likes I am not lucky! I just installed the hotcam kit and BBK shorties
this year and now the car is sitting in my driveway with a rod knock sound I didn't even run it hard!

But right now I can have a good deal on an 96 LT4 block and head for 1500 $ CAN is the lt4 bottom end is really better than the lt1 ?
or is it better to splaye the lt1 and probably buy a stroker kit!?

thanks for your awnser

the Lt4 is a 4bolt main, the heads and intake are slightly better. But for 1500, you could built a scat forged 355.

Hmm, if you look around you can find entire LT4 engines with the accessories and wiring and PCM, full drop in for about $3k-3500k, so I'd say $1500 for just the bare block / rotating assembly and heads is not worth it unless its sitting brand new in the create.

you can def. get better performance for 1500, the lt4 is nothing special, alittle better peformance but not much.
