LT4 vs LT1 rod bolt?

I was looking into the redline for stock lt1 and was told it was the rod bolts. I did some digging and discovered the lt1 and lt4 rod bolts have the same part numbers. So can I assume the lt1 can handle 6300rpm safely like the lt4?

The LT1 seems to handle 6500 fairly well.

The rod bolts on the LT1 do not tend to break but rather stretch enough to let the cap move and the bearing gets eaten. The LT4 rods are fractured cap so even with the same rod bolt I would expect the cap to be a little more stable. Piston weight also plays a BIG part in how much load the bolts see. Put a heavier piston on a stock rod and I would no longer feel safe taking to to 6500rpms.

I heard they stretched via another member too. Was just curious if they would handle 6300prm without issues. I know the 306 will make power past that, but if iir on stock heads it peaks at about 6200rpms. Just trying to push it a little past that.

To properly use a cam you need to rev several hundred rpms past peak. If valvetrain is good 500+rpms past is not out of the question. This keeps you in higher average power.

When you see graphs where the power peaks then tanks it is often a valvetrain issue.

The graphs I saw flat lined but didn't drop. I know I want to rev further, but reliability is a issue since it's my DD.
