LT4 valve spring question, on a LT1

I'm doing a cam swap and looking to purchase the LT4 hotcam valve springs. Will i need the cups, retainers and locks or can i just swap the springs? I'm going to purchase the cam from SDPC. Any help would be great. Curt

i would look at different cams and stay away from the lt4 hot cam. They make newer baby cams that make better power then the hotcam.

Good luck.

I Would like to use a different cam but the price is right for the hot cam, idle is good and i dont have 400.00 for a tune right away. I know the LT4 springs are not that great but for now they will do. I like the GM 846 cam, cc305 on a 112,

Yes, you can just swap the springs.

Umm...you are going to want to get a tune with the HOT cam, as well. The HOT cam kit is a good enough package for "ok for now".

The Hotcam is good. I wish I knew where these magical baby camshafts are located. The GM846 and CC305 are both good cams also. You dont need $400 for a tune, just a ALDL cable and a decent base cam tune [which you could probably find somewhere for free] or an ALDL cable and an email tune package, or send your PCM out to get reflashed. All less than $400. Also it doesnt sound like you need a custom cam either so if the price is right on the three above, go for it.

PS Fill out your signature area with year, other mods, etc.

Also I have an extra ALDL cable lying around here if you need one.

Dustin, yes I'm interested in the ALDL cable but I have OBD1. Will it work with that? And PM me the price of the cable. Thanks, Curt

p.s.s. lol I'll get my signature changed to correct place
