Listed as two separate part #'s, so I guess they're not meant to be, assuming they have some type of oil baffle in them for the PCV system like the LT1 style.

LT4 valve cover LH 12552321

LT4 valve cover RH 12552322

correct, on e has the open oil fill and the front and the baffled breather tube at the rear, and the other has just the baffled PCV hole

Re: LT4 Valve Covers Interchangeable Side to Side??

Ok, guess I should have been more clear. I'm well aware that they are different part numbers for each side. Thanks for the info though guys!

This is for a buddy's car (he had a rocker stud snap today and put a pushrod through the driver side valve cover) and since he needs a new one he's wondering if a passenger side cover will bolt on to the driver side with no issues so he can run a breather over there also (it's a blower car).

Why can't you switch side to side?

IIRC there is a notch or indent on one side to clear the alternator. I have a set on the shelf in the garage, but haven't really looked at them in a while.

There's no notch. The ends on both valve covers slant in.

To switch sides wont you have to cut out the internal baffling? I will go out and look at mine in a little while.

Re: LT4 Valve Covers Interchangeable Side to Side??

The heads are totally identical. There is no "left" or "right" head, so why would the covers not bolt directly on to either head, whether its on the left side or right side of the engine. Yes, the connections are different, but the bolt holes and reinforcement have to be the same.

Re: LT4 Valve Covers Interchangeable Side to Side??

The bolts/holes that mount the VC to the heads are not centered,
Thats why they won't fit.
