the LT1 block has 2 bolt mains.. the LT4 has 4 bolt mains

you can get all of the parts from GM parts direct if you want a good price otherwise www.tbyrnemotorsports.com has the whole LT4 package listed in the LT1 section of their page.

Jason Cromer with Sam Taylor Buick in Ft. Walton Beach, FL is the CHEAPEST place to get the necessary parts. I know of a few people that have gotten the entire LT4 conversion kit (LT4 HotCam kit, LT4 intake, assembled LT4 heads, and the extreme duty timing chain kit) from him for something like $2200 (if you're in FL, you'll have tax on that).

Click here for the Sam Taylor website

BTW, I know of one individual that did the LT4 conversion on a '96 Z28 and along with Hooker LTs, Mufflex Y-pipe, and PCM programming his car pulled 380rwhp. Everyone called him a lair, but I've dyno'd with him and seen his numbers....Here's his dyno page: http://www.imaliar.net

Unfortunately, that is a misleading answer. I can easily say there is no difference between the two.

B-body and F-body LT1 blocks are 2 bolt main. Vette LT1 blocks are 4 bolt main. There is no specific LT4 block. The LT4 engine used the same LT1 vette block. So yes, the LT4 engine has 4 bolt mains.
