LT4 knock module vs. desensitizing knock sensor

Is it worth anything (ie. power) to run a lt4 knockmodule if your tuner desensitizes the stock one in your tune? They are relitively cheap, but no need to drop the 35-40 bucks if it aint worth it. My car shows like 3-4 knock retard on freescan, but it seems as though the people that run lt4 module even have some problems with false knock. This is just a little mod that I havent ever got around to doing, but if it aint worth it, Ill spend the money else where

desensitization and an lt4 knock module would seem like it would show even less knock then just desensitizing the stock module. Now weather or not 3 degrees will show even a 1hp increase/loss is the question.

Re: LT4 knock module vs. desensitizing knock sensor

an lt4 knock module is nice for the car. some will argue but bottom line is that it is less sensitive to bringing up false knock versus the stock module. if you can't seem to toss the false knock, desensitizing the sensor is a possibility. you can do that 2 easy ways. one would be messing with the tables for the module in the tune....and the easiest way IMO is to remove the actual knock sensor and put teflon tape or liquid thread lock on the threads of the knock sensor. All that does it give the sensor a bit of a cushion between the threads and the iron block. it's not much, but its easy to do and has been proven to get rid of those 2 degree spark knock retards that nobody needs. obviously, you only want to do any of this unless you are certain you aren't getting any real spark knock.
