LT4 injectors????
LT4 injectors????
I found an old quote from this site saying that the stock 95 Z28 cam specs were 203/208 duration and 450/460 lift using 1.5 rockers. I also saw a quote saying that with an LT4 head upgrade using stock injectors would push them up to almost max duty cycle. Now I dont have LT4 heads, but my cam is 254/262 duration and 485/504 lift using 1.5 rockers, I am wondering if using the 28lb LT4 injectors might be a better choice than the stock 24lb Z28 injectors. I know the heads only flow what they will, but I am hoping that with the slightly bigger cam that the bigger injectors might offer some improvement.
What do you guys think? Also would the bigger injectors require PCM tune?
As always thanks!!

Re: LT4 injectors????
Do you understand advertised duration vs. duration at .050"?
My guess is no.
Injector size changes absolutely require immediate pcm reprogramming.
To save others the trouble here is the cam on Crower's site.

The 204/212 numbers are the once you should be comparing to the stock numbers.
They offer it as "stock replacement" and they mean it. If you needed a replacement stock cam you would have been better off saving $300 and paying someone to ship you their stock takeout, because I am sure someone would have been willing to send you one for shipping cost.
In case that was atall unclear, not a snowball's chance you need to be worried about larger injectors.

Re: LT4 injectors????
Thanks for your reply and you are absolutly correct... I do not know very much about camshafts and duration etc.... I am an electrician by trade that is why I am asking these questions. I thought with the added lift I might be able to get a little more through the heads. And with a little more air, add a bit more fuel. I do know one thing for certain... I did not pay $321 for the cam back in 2008. Let me save some face there, it was less then half of that. And back in 08 did not know about this website... wish I did though. I live in California and have to abide by these stupid smog laws if I want to drive on the street, with that said I am just trying to make what I have work a little better. AND be able to register my car. Thanks for your help.
Re: LT4 injectors????
Dwayne is 100% right about the immediate pcmtuning with larger injectors. I thought I would be able too throw a set of 42# lucas's in my car, get a mail order and be done
Countless data logs and numerous hours and 6 months later its close but still not perfect.
