The hotcam is a decent cam if you're bound to emissions. If you're not, the options are out there for more/better power.

When installing the Hot Cam, or any other cam for that matter, your going to at least need a cam swap gasket set.

There are also other things to consider as well. I would take apart and thoroughly inspect your lifters before reusing them with a new cam. More than likely, u should replace them. Also, ur probably going to want better springs to match the higher lift numbers of the cam. Also, make sure u check over pieces that have a high liklihood of failing, such as waterpump, opti, and coil.

The HOTcam kit is $479 from gmpartsdirect.com. It comes with the cam, springs, roller rockers, retainers, shims etc. You'll also need a new timing chain, gaskets etc. I didn't replace my lifters, but you may need to according to wheelman, although I believe most people just reuse them.

I got by with using a stock replacement chain only which was $20. I felt comfortable doing this since I have an electric waterpump. You might need to do the LT4 timing set if you have the stock waterpump.

I had a few leaks from the timing cover after my cam swap, so be careful! Also loosen the oil pan bolts and let it drop down a hair so you can get the timing cover off. The timing cover sits in the oil pan gasket.
