LT4 Hot CAM VS CC306 ???
Re: LT4 Hot CAM VS CC306 ???
id say 306 all the way if you want a faster car
if you want something that gets a lil better gas mileage and isnt so top heavy on the power band go with the hot cam
you will also have to think about tuning
you almost def want a tune with the 306 where you can run the hot cam on a stock tune with out much of an issue
plus the hot cam kit cant be beat as far as value goes

I don't know the RWHP numbers for cam only. Is this cam going to be the beginning of your mods or is this just something to give you a little more power? If you just want a little more power and aren't going into the motor anymore then get the hot cam. You don't really need gears with it and it can run on the stock tune and be fine. If you get the 306 you will need gears and tuning. I think there was one cam only 306 I remember that put down around 340-345. If it were me I would get the 306, but it's your car.

If you want a daily driver that gets decent power all over the rpm range then get the hotcam. Its no slouch(see my sig
) However, I am going to be upgrading to the 306 or GM 847 soon because I want more power! Its really up to you.

FryedClutch- You absolutly have to tune the car when you change the cam regardless of how much or how little you have. Driveability and supporting mods have to be factored also. Nothing is worse than a mediocre car that runs bad.
Re: LT4 Hot CAM VS CC306 ???
my car traps 114 on the stock heads and full weight on the cc306, i expect it would dyno around 350 to the wheels where a hot cam usally comes in around 330 with the same supporting mods.

My hot cam set up did 345 rwhp & 346 tq, that was good for 12.9 @ 110 on street tires. 2.1 60'. Wth 28" hooser slicks It went 12.6-7 108-109. A 150 shot got me 11.18.
