Lt4 heads??`

Im getting a cc306 cam for my 94 but i dont know about the heads. I hate to spend an arm and a leg due to the fact im still in college. I saw the lt4 heads are 1200 from gm partsdirect. Is that a good deal for those heads? would that be a good setup with my cam??? Thanks!

I would not get that cam if I were you. If I were going to order one from a mag, it would be an XE grind. Just my .02

what would be the hp for this setup u think? i know most guys are pulling 340is to the wheels with stock heads and that cam. What about with the lt4 heads and ported intake??

The LT4 heads are a low budget way to get the extra HP. You will need the LT4 intake. With the raised intake ports, larger and lighter valves for $1200 isn't to bad a deal.
Someday maybe get them ported and they will be hard to beat.

No offense, but why spend $1200 on a set of stock LT4 heads that you aren't going to port? You will most likely make 380ish rwhp with those heads and that cam, If you went to the AI heads (stock casting) for just a little more, you can hit near or over 400rwhp? For the same price you can easily get more power. If you are going to have a good porter work on the LT4s its a different story, but from the sounds of it you will leave them stock.

Well They're assuming he has full exhaust with headers (LTs), and a CAI and other bolt ons. But yeah with a CC306 and stock LT4 heads he'll make 370-380 rwhp pretty easy I think.

yes i do have all the bolt ons! and what i am looking for is about 380 rwhp. it is my daily driver for now. But, as soon as i get a reliable car to drive. I will port and polish the heads for better hp! So getting these heads wouldnt be a bad idea if a low 12 second car is what im looking for right now???

I wouldnt advise getting the LT4 heads unless you either keep them stock or just go with a mild porting...considering the raised runners on them they'd work better with an engine with more than 350ci's...
