well im considering getting the upgrade to the lt4 hotcam, from my lt1, right now on street/highway i get 17+or- on freeway 65mph 24+or-

will the lt4 decrease my mileage...

and what does it usually get at the track w/ headers?

 

and on another lt4 question are there any other cams besides the hotcam?

 

I actually was thinking about doing the LT4 hotcam and asked the same question. This is the reply I got from "madwolf" and a few other members.

"With a good tune you will see roughly the same MPG values for daily driving. Maybe 1 or 2 miles less"

I think "Madwolf" is a supporting advertiser on the board and does tuning so if you get it done you can probably get it tuned by him

 

No your gas mileage will not decrease that much if any. Yes there are other cams besides the hot cam. You need to pay a visit to www.thunderracing.com

 

I don't have the hotcam, but I do have a true LT4. My MPG is about the same as a regular LT1. I get right at 18-19 for my regular route, which is about 60/40 hwy/city. Of course, I also drive at about 80 on the highway, so I'm sure I'd do better if I only drove 65-70. As a comparison, my Z06 vette was getting almost exactly the same mileage on the same route with the same driving style.
