I think he was assuming you had a good 60' time for your 12.9 run. Notice his sig as well.

I've never seen an LT4 corvette go mid 12's. The LT4 corvettes are rated at 330 HP. So why would you make much more? The heads arn't going to flow as much as ported lt1's. Im guessing low 13's with the LT4 and most port head lt1's with cam go high 12's.

i've never dyno'd an LT4 vette, but they were supposedly conservatively rated.

Everyone talking aobut the LT4 conversion is using the LT4 HOTcam, not production cam, thats a huge difference.

You should easily be able to go low 13s in decent weather with a stock head/cam car unless your at altitude, so thats a lil off.

I have a '92 RS that I swapped a '95 LT1 into. About a year later I swapped LT4 heads and Hotcam and 1.6 rockers into it. I got a pcmforless.com program, stock LT1 throttlebody and injectors, Heddman headers, and 3.42 gears out back. So far the best I've run was a 13.1 @ 109 with a 2.0 60' on street tires. Still wondering why my mph is so high but the ET isnt there. Looking back, I wish I would have gotten the LT1's ported and gotten a bigger cam to begin with but oh well, you live and you learn.

The LT4 conversion is a great mod, but it just depends on what your goals are for the car. If you want a fun to drive, fairly hot daily driver, go for it. But if you have any thoughts of going faster and bigger later on, then you may want to look into other options.

Well, wouldn't a rock solid LT4 conversion be a better bet for performance, and a better foundation on down the road for more performance versus an LT1?
