LT4 conversion kit?

What is involved in putting this kit in? What do I have to do to the computer? Do I have to change the fuel injectors? Do I need to change the torque converter? Can I get away with just buying the kit? Thank you in advance for any help.

with the power gain you are going to see you will most likely need to buy a high stall, but it will not be nessicary just to drive the car around. probably wont be your best race setup to have a stock 'verter though. as for the ECM you wont ahve to get a new one, just re-tune the stock one. it will run, but most likely rich as a mother.

You could spend a lot less money on ported LT1 heads and any cam of your choice... plus you will make more power. You will need to upgrade the computer, injectors and stall if you have an auto.

Thanks for the replies. The main reason I'm thinking about this kit is because I need to pass emissions. It actually seems like a good deal to me,why do you think its a waste of money?

Re: LT4 conversion kit?

First of all are you planning on going with the regular LT4 cam or the hotcam? If you are going with the hotcam then thats the same cam that I have and you will see most, if not ALL of the power from that cam. The LT4 heads and intake together will not net you very much more power at all, they hardly flow any better and for the same price you can get your LT1's fully ported and have ALOT more HP gain. That why.

Go to; moreperformanceinc.com for dyno tests on this setup. The dyno doesn't lie!

The dyno numbers are done by the flywheel. You will typically see 340RWHP from an auto and 360RWHP or so from a manual.

If you get lloyd elliots LE1 package which is $1100 (includes heads/cam) and then the rest of the valvetrain from thunderracing or cmotorsports, you would see more power all across the board.
