Lt4 conversion in car?

How hard would it be to do a full lt4 kit with the motor in the car? is it even possible? also would it require a dyno tune in an automatic?

Thanks,
Kevin

It has been done thousands of time, so it's possible. The difficult level is the same as any cam/head swap. Better get a tune, dyno tune is even better.

Re: Lt4 conversion in car?

It is very possible to install an LT4 conversion on an LT1 while in the car. As a matter of fact, I just finished buttoning up the one in my 96 Z28. The only thing you have to do is move your condensor up and out of the way to get the cam in and out. Other than that it can be done. Also the angle torquing of the heads is kind of tricky. As far as tuning, the car will fire and run but you won't get max performance w/o custom tuning .
