looking for the best place to buy an LT4 hot cam with springs and retainers. any price savings would help. pros and cons of going with used unit? thanks!

 

it was either summit of jegs who used to sell the hotcam kit for 500 a while back(2-3yrs). I am not which, but is there any reason why you want that cam opposed to something like a xe 224/230?

I ask becaus the hotcam is a very old design, im not saying its bad, but there are many newer grinds out there which would produce more hp, same mpg, same driveability, etc.
So why would you want to settle for less when you could have all the good things about hotcam in another grind with more power. You see my point?

 

def. see your point. this cam is for my budgit car. i was going to go with an LE cam but his site is not up? think ive been away too long! lol! anyway, car will have mild stall (2600) and 373s. and 1.6 rr and full bolt ons. any word on whats new? voodoo cam? comp? gmpp? or even the cam god himself .......Brent? you out there?

 

depends on how fast you want the car to be? with that setup you just posted you will be in the mid to low 12's easily. i guess it depends on how fast cars run in new jersey. but mid to low 12's for sure

 

just looking for something i can live with on the road every day. car will see a lot of street time so i dont want to have to rev the crap out of it. again im not looking for a $400 cam. some thing that will cost around $400 with springs and retns.. thanks
