LT4 Cam

I am thinking about installing an LT4 cam on a mildly modded z28, and was wondering what kind of gains i would see.

Re: LT4 Cam

Do a search, there is a ton of people on this board using the LT4 hotcam.

Try to match someone else that has similar mods and that would give you a close estimate.

Impossible to say what gains you would see, not knowing what other mods you have.

Exactly!!!YOU can do better!! The hot cam has a little bit more duration than the cam i used but on numerous est Comp cams ALWAyS seem to make the most power!... I did a cam swap last summer and decided to get the comp cams cc 305 cam, which is .510/.510 lift, 220/230 duration with a 114 LSA and a 1500-5500 power band, which i really noticed it more around 1800, but Damn it really pulled throughout the powerband!!!!.Its an Awesome streetable yet "mildly" radical (if that mmakes anysense at all) cam. Put some comp 1.6 RR and your lift jumps to like a .544/.544 lift!!!!!! But u will eventually want to get a computer tune to reap the full benefits of a valve train upgrade! as far as valve springs, combination motorsports used to sell a set of these springs (they may have been LT1 specific i can't remember) that are good up to a .600 lift and they were only like $99! But if ur really serious about doing this i would also invest in a nice porting job on ur heads and intake again to reap the full benefits of an LT1 cam swap!!

The LT4 cam or the LT4 Hotcam?

Both cams are retarded, IMO, but the regular LT4 cam is a COMPLETE waste of money. The hotcam is simply less of a waste of money

Re: LT4 Cam

If you get the Hot cam kit for around $450 its more of a good performance/value. You get the cam, springs and roller rockers and a nice boost plus a great lopy sound. If you decide to do heads later you can upgrade the cam and still have the 1.6 RRs. Mine gave me about 4 tenths.
