LT4 cam?

Is it worth getting the LT4 cam? Or will I get better gains from other type. What are you all running? Right now I have a stock LT1 that runs a 13.2. I dont want to spend to much. Thanks.

Go with something else. That cam is pretty mild. Good for california emissions though. Look at www.compcams.com And check out the cc306. That's the one that I'm looking at.

Do you mean the LT4 Hotcam? The LT4 cam is actually smaller than the stock LT1 cam:
96/97 LT1: 205/207 447/459 (w/1.5 rockers) 477/490 (w/1.6rockers) 117
96/97 LT4: 203/210 476/479(1.6rockers) 115
LT4Hotcam: 218/228 525/525(1.6rockers) 112

The differenced in the LT4 engines is all in the 1.6 roller rockers and the LT4 heads.

So are you saying getting an LT4 hotcam wouldn't even be an upgrade? I am looking at a cam that will give me an ok gain (not looking to be the fastest car in the world) and still be able to pass California emissions.

Dont get confused.... You asked for info on the LT4 cam(used on production LT4 engines (Grand Sport Corvettes, or 96 M6 Corvettes. The LT4 "hot" cam is much bigger than stock, and should pass emissions with proper tuning.

I can vouch for the passing emissions part. I have no emissions equipment installed and a gutted cat. I was way under the NOx emissions, just over on Hydrocarbons and CO. We added a cat and put a high temp thermostat in and getting it retested first thing next week. Should pass with no problem.

Well, my best friend just put a CC306 in his '95Z, pretty much stock heads, light porting, crappy Edelbrock headers, and he pulls me by a length on the highway. I've got basically a full LT4 conversion, so take that for what you will
