I have decided that i most likely will be getting the LT4 cam and i jsut wanted to know if it will have that nice strong cam sound and if i will be able to feel a pretty big difference in power.

It's noticable that it's not stock, but not like a huge cam.

Judging by the dyno numbers that it puts out, you should easily feel the difference.

Remember that you should to headers and a catback exhaust first though.

Stock LT1's have about 255 rear wheel HP and a hotcam with headers and catback make about 325-330 rear wheel HP, so yes, you will feel it.

I believe that is on a 114lsa so it won't be a very big sound chage.. but you will notice the power improvement...
I was gonna do that cam but decided I would want to go bigger lter so I just bit the bullet and got teh bigger one (zz409)
I did the cam before headers and the improvement was not great.. I was a lttle bummed, once I did headers and rockers. HOLY COW!!! huge difference

Are you serious?.... I didn't see any winking smileys! I'm guessing long tubes, though, right?

Yes, I'm serious. Look at GREGG 97Z recent dyno run. 350 SAE rwhp from the Hotcam on stock heads. He has midlength headers and a cutout. He does have a few small HP increasers(like airfoil, underdrive pulley and electric waterpump, but I think that's it)

I have seen others with only CAI, Hotcam kit and LT headers pull 325 rwhp.

325-330 rwhp is what I have been seeing from the Hotcam with stock heads wither it's LT's or mids.

That sound clip sounds Awesome!

Has anyone ever put 1.7rr's on with a hot cam, or has anyone thought about this. It would put the lift around .557!

I saw a post on here about a guy that did that and picked up like 15 rwhp. Do a search, and you might find it. My hotcam and a head clean up dropped me 5 tenths in the quarter and I had it idled a little lower so it loped a little harder. Still haven't heard a hotcam car that sounded as good as mine did. Wish I would have got a sound clip of it before I spun a bearing making a 1/4 mile pass.

That is awesome for Gregg... I just checked out his dyno sheets. I'm very close to his set-up now, so it's good to know what I'm probably running. Thanks for the praise on the sounds... I love 'em myself too!!

LT4 hotcam kit, AS&M midlength headers through a Corsa exhaust you can definitley tell there is an aftermarket cam in there then when I open up my cutout OMG........ My first trip ever with the car set up basic bolt on's plus the cam kit and Nittos netted a 13.4 @ 105.88 with a 2.16 short time with about a 20+mph headwind. The track is not known for it's prep, and they say is .3 to .5 slower difference between this track and a track like Texas Motorplex in Ennis,TX. Using the hp calcualter on TCI's website at a weight of 3650 with me in it at that trap it calculates to 340rwhp that is usually pretty close to real numbers. I'm confident that I can learn to drive the car as it sits to a 12 sec pass. It's an M6 and I can't drive for ****...

Temporary yes but you will see MAJOR gains after heads...... and to Riddlerlt1............ you can put those RR's on your car but prepare for some valvetrain noise like you never heard!!! and One thing i want to point out.... Lift matters but you gotta have the cam to back it up..... puttin 1.7's on a hotcam will not give you much more.... cause its a pretty mild cam.... yes if you "crunch" the numbers it "says" you will have a certain amount of lift.... but its like puttin a baby cam with huge heads..... you gotta have a better ratio with that.... so in short.... stick with the 1.6's............ sorry so long....
