which LT1's had the 2 bolts and wich the 4's?

which LT1's had the 2 bolts and wich the 4's?

yanked the motor out of my camaro to find it was a 4 bolt motor and i could have sworn that the F-bodies had 2 bolt mains and the corvettes has 4 bolt mains. ive been wrong before and apparently wrong again, so now im curious which cars had the 2 bolt motors? thanks!

All LT1's except those bound for the Corvette's were 2 bolt mains. Generally when a motor was replaced under warranty a 4 bolt went in.

Yep, that's how I ended up with a 4-bolt block. Previous owner spun a rod bearing with just 9k miles on the odometer.

Do you have all the service records for your car? Might find the answer in there.

when i car faxed the car before i bought it, i =t never said anything about the motor being replaces, my car only has 53,000 miles on it too. btw i just called my dad and he still dont believe me that the f-bodies came with a 2bolt

What is better about the 4 bolt compared to the 2 bolt? How can you tell?

4 bolt is stronger, and the only way to tell beside pullin the numbers off the block is to take off the oil pan and look at your main caps, if there is 2 bolts its a 2 bolt if it has 4 its a 4.
