I've read/heard conflicting information regarding the differences between the two intakes. I should be receiving my Advanced Induction LT4 AFR heads (going on a blown 383) shortly so I need to sort this out.

I have a spare LT1 intake and a brand new LT4 intake in hand and they appear to be virtually identical other than color and a bit more meat around the ports. If anything, the ports on the LT4 casting are smaller which concerns me. What gives?

Also, what should I have done to the intake, if anything? I'm planning to have the TB ports opened to 58mm or so in case I add a larger TB later. Should I have any work done to the ports?

Thanks, I'll continue digging through the posts. I've been reading through archives and that's where most of my confusion comes from though...definitely both ends of the spectrum. I'll guess I'll see for myself when the heads show up and go from there. Thanks for the link!!!
