LT1 to Third Gen ??

I will be doing this swap shortly, and i have full bolt ons for the lt1, will my Pacesetter Long tubes and my magnaflow cat back bolt into the thirdgen w/o any problems? I would hate to spend all that extra money on exhaust when i have it already.

Thanks in advance.

I doubt the cat back would fit perfect but i am sure you can modify everything to work

The cat back can be made to fit, if you replace the front slip fit section ( the part that connects to the cat) With one from a thirdgen catback. I don't believe that the headers will fit though. On a side note. if you are ever in the milwaukee area and want to go for a ride in an lt1 3rdgen let me know. I have been driving mine for about 3.5 years.

I'm going to try to attempt to get those in there, i would hate to have wasted my money on them, another thing, if i convert my fourth gen disc rear end do i have to swap anything else over if i dont want the abs?

Re: LT1 to Third Gen ??

Hate to break it to you, but you will most likely need to use thirdgen LTs, or any header/Y-pipe combo that is thirgen specific. This is from my experience. When I first did the swap I had headers off of a 95z. The headers fit but there was no way the y-pipe was going to fit so I had to have one made. The y-pipe was such crap that I went with the Hooker 2005, do to the nice y-pipe it comes with. I guess that if the LT drop in then it will be nothing to fab up a y-pipe into a catback. My case however I had to retain the cat in the stock location, so that is why I had to use thirdgen stuff.

stock manifolds work but you have to modify the 3rd gen y-pipe. I hade to do this for smog for mine. Otherwise, you need to use 3rd gen headers.
