Lt1 swap

I bought a doner 1994 lt1 full car. I have pulled out the 3800 by engine and trans everything. Got all the 94 lt1 parts in and ready to do a test fire. Fuel pump is not coming on. Now it worked in the 94 but not my 97. What is wrong where do I need to start. Help please.

Re: Lt1 swap

Have you tried powering the fuel pump with the prime connector? Checked the fuse? Checked the relay?

Did you account for any possible differences between the 94 and 97 body harness to engine harness connectors? There could be differences, although on quick glance the fuel pump and PASS-Key pinouts seem similar.

Does the 97 fuel pump prime when you turn the key to “run”? But then does not turn on when the key is turned to “start” and the starter cranks the engine? If so, that could be a PASS-Key system.

Did you look into the fact the 97 has a body control module (BCM) with PASS-Key (VATS) system integrated, while the 94 used a separate theft deterrent module (TDM)?

And, I need to move this to the correct forum. “Site Help and Suggestuions” is for help with problems affecting the operation of the website - uploading photos, private messages, passwords, closing accounts, etc. I'll move this to the correct tech forum.

I do apologize for this post being in the wrong place. I'm new to this all the way around. I have done a few swaps like this but not that much of a gap in the years. The fuel pump dose nothing at all at anytime during cycling of the ignition. I assumed that there would be some difference but not sure as to what they would be. I was in Hope's (lol) that some one had done this before and fix the issue without much trouble. I do believe that I will have to swap out the dash. Is what it sounds like. Thank you.

Re: Lt1 swap

On the main harness near the PCM, there is a single wire with a female connection popping out of the loom. Connect this directly to 12V to test the fuel pump relay and wiring.
