I want to stroke my LT1. What parts do I need and where should I get them.

You will have to be way more specific on what you want. Street car only? Race car only? Both? Emissions compliant? Desired power level? Naturally aspirated or power adder? Do a search on strokers. This is a widely discussed topic.

I went to http://www.Nu-tekmotorsports.com about 10 months ago, and got the whole motor done 6,200$, excellent customer service!!

But this seems to be Nick's busy time, but if your serious, check out the site!

I second Nick @ Nu-Tek Motorsports, But good luck getting a hold of him. He seems to be so busy that he dosent answer the phone or return emails. Have patience with them, they are a good shop.

Has anyone done it there selves without spending 6 grand. I have a complete stock LT1 and I was just wondering about how much it would cost to do a 383 my self. Not counting performance engine parts, just for the specific parts for the stroke.

I just did mine myself. Prior to doing it the only engine I've worked on was my motorcycle. Went from bone stock to what I got below. As far as spending under 6k, good luck. My short block cost me about 2600. Thats with me doind the disassembly and assembly. I just took the bare block to the shop. Its all the upgrades your gonna have to do that will cost the money. But like some else said.....if you could be more specific.

Wait a minute. I just went back your sig. You got 400hp already??? Is that RWHP? Why do you want to stroke it for then?? Did you blow the motor or something?

400 at the flywheel. I am looking for about 400 rwhp. Like I said I already have a block and I've been looking at 383 kits that are about $1200. How much is the machining usually.

I got a complete LT1 out of a 96 that I want to build up for a street/strip car. I just need a little help or ideas. I am putting it in a 93 and I will sell my 93 engine after I'm done. I have time but I'm not rich.
