Lt1 + Rain = No Go
Lt1 + Rain = No Go
I put Hooker LTs on my car not too long ago and every time that it rains my car idles low (around 500 rpm) and seems to want to turn off. Any other of you had a problem like this? I have a new opti on it with new wires and plugs, but I know its not a coincidence that when it rains my car doesn't run right. any suggestions....?

Dunno it seems the only logical explanation. Those things are heated to give more exact measurements, so I assume cooling it off quickly with water would throw it off.
Good luck!
Re: Lt1 + Rain = No Go
this morning when I was headed to school, it did the same. THis is what happens.....
It starts up fine, idles perfect..... Once I start driving in the rain.... it starts hesitating backfiring, no power, my car starts shaking, idles really low @ 500rpm, lights get dim, Check engine light starts blinking.... Then when it warms up completely after driving it like that for about 5 minutes, it goes on like nothing happened, pulls like a champ....
What do you guys think . . . . ????

you can run engine without the O2 in the exhaust.. IE you can use a 2nd set if you have them and put them up under the hood where they wont get wet and go for a drive..
Also.. look at the possibility of shorting the batery to gnd via water.. IE water grounding out a wire.. maybe one of the heavier ones.. ALT or Starter. probably see voltage drop if that was the case... watch gauge.

Re: Lt1 + Rain = No Go
On my car, the air filter is sucking in water and getting the MAF wires wet. It will stumble, and hesitate. Same symptoms for too much oil on the K&N.
Make sure your air filter is dry, your MAF is not getting water.
My car hates rain.
