Exclamation LT1 Number 7 Plug WIRE

I'm having trouble getting the wire to the number 7 plug (back of the engine on the driver's side) out of my 95 LT1; any suggestions?

It seems to be tucked into some kind of shielding and I can't figure out how to get it out and where I should run the new wire when I finally do get the wire out.

Any help would be appreciated thanks

You have to remove the shield, fish the wire out and replace it back like it was. The shield is held on by two bolts. The front bolt will have to be removed, but the other can be just loosened (the shield is slotted where it goes over the bolt).

there is 1 10mm bolt on the underside. well there are 2 but you only need to remove the one closest to the firewall

Re: LT1 Number 7 Plug WIRE

is there anyway that I can take that plate all the way out... one end of the old plug got caught and I didn't realize it and it broke off inside that shielding... I know its going to be a pain in the a** now no matter what, but I'm looking for what my best bet is.

Re: LT1 Number 7 Plug WIRE

Wait the plug broke off? Do you mean wire? I cut the old one apart and then worked the new wire in by bending the heatshield and sliding the new wire in at the same time. If I were to do it again, I would take off the heat shield because it is probably easier. So answering you question, take the shield off (two bolts like shoebox said), take out new wire, put new one in, re-attach heat shield. Bham!

Or you can do it the shade tree way and just bend the sheething down to expose the wire and bend it back up after the wire has been replaced.

I previously described removing the shield.
