LT1 No start - n00b mechanic, where to start?

Hello all. I have a '96 Z. The engine cranks, but will not start.

Some background:
I had a dead heater core. So, the car sat in the driveway for about 10 months until I got the nerve up to swap it out. Successfully replaced the heater core (yeay me!), refilled the coolant and started up the beast. She ran great for about five minutes. I took 'er for a spin around the block (less than a mile) and put 'er back in the driveway and let it run so I could recycle the coolant and flush it. While sitting in the driveway, the engine slowed, then died.

I can't get it to restart.

When trying to get it to restart, I get a solid crank from the starter, but no ignition. Upon releasing the key, the engine "diesels" for a couple revs, then dies. I've checked fuel pressure at the schraeder valve behind the engine and it reads about 38PSI.

I don't have any test equipment, so I'm wondering what the best order of operations is to start troubleshooting this. Any suggestions and advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Here are the crank, but no start charts from the factory manual.

Ok, first thing that will help is a sig line with your car's info (year, mods, ect.). That will help everyone give you tips. second you need to scan for codes, this will help as well. from what you have said it sounds like you have a fuel issue ( psi at valve should be 42lbs), i would change the filter and cross my fingers.. and re check the pressure.
