Whats the deal with these? I saw them in the new summit.....any advantage?

I have heard in the past that splayed 4 bolts can distort a factory block because it is not properly reinforced, so at hi rpm it is possible to distort the cyl.

 

I believe the negative info out there about converting 2 bolt blocks too 4 is leftover from the gen 1 blocks, the LT1 block was designed from the begining to get 4 bolts though they only machined for them for the Vette and warranty motors. Granted that was straight 4 bolt not splayed but there is material there.
