LT1 M6 Conversion: ECM Question

Can you use the stock A4 computer with a custom chip, or will I have to get a M6 computer? Also, is there a difference between the years ( '94 Z28 A4 is what I have ), and where is a good place to start looking? Thanks.

Lots of people convert their a4s to m6s and keep the stock pcm, you shouldn't have any problems. Try the lt1 tech section though you'll have better luck there.

stickshift is right. The A4 computer will work fine. I am still running mine and haven't even reprogrammed it yet. It will throw a TCC code, but who cares. It doesn't affect the drivability of it, so no big deal. You can reprogram the A4 computer with a t56 program, which is optimal for getting the speedo right. I haven't used the speedo in years, so it hasn't bothered me. Then again, I don't have a clutch switch, reverse lights, or reverse lockout. The only one that bothers me is the reverse lights. Too lazy to fix right now though. Anywho, good luck with the swap!

it will work fine, but like stated above, needs to be reflashed in order to have use of your speedometer...

PCMforless did mine...

Look at your odo, it's running twice as fast as it should. Also, your speedo is way off. You can probably get an M6 flash fromt the dealership.
