LT1/LT4 Valve Covers

Does anyone know what the difference in height is between an LT1 valve cover and an LT4 valve cover?

Virtually the same from what I can tell.

i thought lt4 valve covers were made out of something else to muffle the valvetrain noise...

Yea, the lt4's are some sort of plastic/composite

I know you asked this question some time ago, but I have a better answer, now. :D

The LT4s are about 3/8" taller on the outside. Part of it has to do with the way it sits on the head. It uses different gaskets than the stock covers. Still, they clear the alternator without problem.

Wow, thanks for digging up this old thread to update me/others--I really appreciate that! :thumb:

F.Y.I....the gasket/seal is an integral part of the LT1/LT4 Corvette composite valve cover.
