I've seen in a summitracing catalog that the lt1 to lt4 conversion kit gets you about 425+ hp. I'm assuming this is flywheel hp. Does any one know how much hp at the rear wheels? Also does anyone know how this kit works with a 355 c.i. I'm guessing it would be the same as a stock block. Is that correct?

If you go ahead and do a search you'll find this topic has been discussed quite a bit. I'll recap a little from what I've read on it though.

The consenus seems to be that the kit is over rated. Guys who do the LT4 conversion tend to only see 340 or so at the wheels. Either the LT4 kit increases drivetrain loss or it's over rated. Throw a meaty cam in instead. You'll be happier with the results and spend a heck of a lot less.
