lt1 to lt4 conversion
lt1 to lt4 conversion
I'm starting to plan and start to purchase the parts to do up the engine of my 95 6speed ta convertible. I'm a very easy driver but would like to have 400 + ponys to stomp the odd ball that needs it. I've seen a package on the summit site for this lt4 conversion that reads 425hp for around $2300. Do stock lt4 heads flow better than ported lt1 heads? Here in Canada it's hard to find porting shops on the east coast. I had a price of around $3200 Canadian for porting and cam in Ontario but that sounds crazy to me when I could get this kit from summit with heads, intake and hot cam and such. I'm a marine technician and will do the work with a friend who is a gm tech. What kind of power would I get if I added a cast eagle crank with suitable rods and pistons for a 383 because thats the cubes I would like to end up with.
thanks

I'd pass on the LT4 conversion personally. Too much $$ and the results aren't good enough. You might want to talk to Lloyd Elliot for Phil at AI. They can hook you up with an awesome heads/cam package at a reasonable price. Try doing a search and you'll find plenty of satisfied customers.
And a ported LT1 head should outflow a non-ported LT4 head.

I'm gonna be selling my LT4 heads and intake within the next month or two since I wrecked my car. They only have 2k miles on them and have dual coil .600 lift springs. If your interested you can email me at tit1544@hotmail.com
