Lt1 to lt4

I LIVE IN THE LAKE NORMAN AREA, NOT FAR FROM CHARLOTTE. Has anyone swapped a LT1 for a LT4? I here Jasper has a good motor but I don't know anyone in this area that will do the motor swap. 2nd plan. My car only has 108K on it. Can I cam it out and get more power. I have already done the ram air hood and box like SS have on them and Long tube header and Y pipe and I also put in a 4:10 rear gear. Just looking for someone that knows crap in my area.

I think your money would be much better spent getting a good AI or LE head/cam package than doing anything LT4. Advanced Induction is in the Charlotte area.

With 108K, may not hurt to refresh the bottom end. If you want 4-bolt mains instead of 2-bolt during the refresh would be a good time to do it.

Which direction you go will depend on your budget and desired power goals.

re: LT1 TO LT4

welcome! I live down in Huntersville, just south of you

I'm doing the same thing, refreshing my LT1 and looking for some more power. I'm bringing my engine to Doug Herbert Performance in Concord to have them do the machine work and get the rebuild kit, etc. and then I'm likely going to do a N/A top end from Advanced Induction (also in..yep, Concord) we live in a pretty awesome place to have an LT1

going to an LT4 really wouldn't be worth it unless your getting some sort of serious smoking deal on a low mileage motor...otherwise it will be way cheaper to refresh/build the current engine and you will get better results.
