Ok, my buddies H/C lt1 stalls randomly, he can drive 10 miles and stall no times, then drive 3 miles on another trip and stall 3 times, so its random. He has and obd1 computer with knock sensor, used to have obd2. New plugs/wires/opti, stock fuel pump and injectors, never been touched, not sure on icm or coil, he says coil was replaced so he thinks. Any ideas what would cause a random stalling?? Crank sensor? any help appreciated guys!

OBDI's don't have crank sensors. Wouldn't cause your problem anyway. Why don't you or he monitor fuel pressure to see what's going on there? The next thing to do would be to scan it for codes that do not eluminate the SES and then start wiggling wires while the engine is running.

 

Had a friend with the same problem. It was his EGR valve.

 

Well see his car is a 97, so i think it does have a crank sensor, he converted it to obd1, i told him egr valve also. thanks!
