LT1 Intake on a 3rd gen...
So guys I've been reading evidently the LT1 intake can be used on a TPI car? Anyone have an article or link or info on this? I'd like to know what needs to be done how hard it is, how long it takes etc. I tried to google it and got nothing good
Re: LT1 Intake on a 3rd gen...
I wonder how much of that HP difference on the L98 was due to the came change and how much to the LT1 intake. I would assume a lot of it was due to the intake especially the major shift in where the power is. The TPI setup is great at building torque but quite anemic above 4500rpm.

For the money, your best bet is to go for the Holley Stealth ram intake setup.
Last time i've looked at it, it was like $275 for the intake setup and another $150 for fuel rails. If its $700 for a kit to install a LT1 intake on standard 23 deg heads, i think thats way too much.

i know it sounds like a lot and it is, but a friend tried the sealth ram on his 383 and it was junk. His dyno session proved it compared to the LT1 intake. Just the different intake and injectors made a huge difference on his dyno session, don't know he #'s off hand, but he saved alot of money cause he had the knoledge and resorces to convert the intake on hos own. I think the increased air flow was better but increased fuel delivery was the other half that made the difference. I know the price is shocking, and if it were my ride i would do the work myself, but he is on a time schedule and just wants it done, so.... Check out LT1intake.com, the prices must have changed since more people want it.
