Wouldnt you be able to get more airflow out of ported iron than aluninum heads bcuz the iron have more material? Or am I wrong on this thought.

Well unported the cast iron LT1 heads already flow a little better than the aluminum LT1 heads.As for porting, both sets have about the same amout of material in them for porting but the difference is the aluminum heads can be welded up to reshape the ports alot cheaper than the cast iron which can also be welded but it is alot more expensive.When being ported i would say the aluminum heads have more potential.
