LT1 FI to Carb swap?
The MSD Crab Cap distributor is the way to go for clearance and it will work.
Hey if you want to stick with a dual plane, go for it.
It's not just some young guy like me that likes single planes for high HP street cars that see a max of 6500rpm this guy is not young and knows what he is doing.....

365 cube, 215cc Heads, Super Vic Single Plane intake and Peak HP: 604.1 @ 6,500 rpm
Peak TQ: 528.0 @ 5,100 rpm
All on Pump Gas.
Just because he won doesn't mean he was right, 9 out of the top 10 ran a single plane intake. Belive me they all tried dual planes and other crazy stuff too, I know I was there did the same thing and asked the guys themselves why they did what they did.
I ran a Super Vic with a 215cc Brodix Head and a 950 Holley and it pulled at WOT at 2500rpm without a glitch, idled like a baby at 900rpm and made 535ft lbs and 570hp. If you want to drag race a car then the single plane will make more power in the RPM band you need it in plain and simple.
The best way to view the diff in a dual plane vs. single plane is to go to this page....

Get the WinDyn software and compare Joe Shermans Final Score with Pro Machines final score. One reason why they were close in average power from 2500-6500 but Joe made 604hp and John at Pro Machine made 556hp, I don't know about you but 48hp more is something I would like to have.
Ok one more vote, this one done by Jon Kaase of IHRA Pro Stock fame.

He does a little bit of name dropping here with the likes of WJ and Sonny Leonard, who BTW he consulted with on the intake. Sonny just has a line of intakes from Brodix with his name on them.
Really take a long hard look at the single planes out there.
My vote is for the Super Vic, on a 355 with some nice ported big valve LT1 castings.
