Lt1 experts..please help..im lost and so is my shop

Ok first the prolem....

I have no power. My car is an a4, and from a stop, if I go full throtle it crawls. Almost feels like a clutch is not engaging.(I know its an a4, but thats just how it feels.) Gets a little better once it gets goin, but not much. Also, i notice what sounds like a valve tap, but its not always there.

Now some back ground....

I got new headers and cat bak put on. After they were put on, a exhaust bolt came loose and I had an exhaust leak. Before i could get It fixxed it melted my #5 plug wire boot. I got the leaked fixxed, and replaced the boot. Then noticed that my wire was burnt through and arching. Called msd and had another wire sent out. But it was gonna take a couple days. So i went to my local speed shop and got a taylor wire for the time being. took 3 days for them to get it though. So i had to drive around with it arching. I had to get to school and work. Last night the wire finally burnt in half. I got and put the new taylor in this morning and it didnt arch anymore. When I went to give it gas though it just revved up. And crawled forward. Put the pedal to the floor, and same thing. It did this about 2 weeks back right before i noticed the exhaust leakSo right from there I took it to my trans shop. Ive already had the car for 2.5 years and got the trans rebuilt twice. He told me that it wasnt the trans. It would go through the gears fine. After we went for a ride we pulled back into the lot and smelled burnt anitfreeze and saw smoke. my heater hosei think split .( the hose on the pass front with the metal fitting and valve to relieve pressure) so we cut it down and clamped it back on. Got in to leav ad t was runnin good. droev around fr about 2 hrs runnin errands then Came home. Car sat for about2 hours. Got back in and hit the gas and it did the same thing. No power. This time I took it on a local long strait rd and floored it from a stop. Crawled then started to go. But not like it should. Still a big power loss. and it didnt seem to be shiftng this time. Rpms just kept goin up. never came back down for shifing. all the way up to about 85mph. came home, parked it, popped the hood with the engine still runnin, and heard what seamed to be a valve tap. Now im afraid t drive it.

Anyone have any clues here?

Have you checked your trans fluid level... How many miles on the car?

Does your engine rev up easily in park?

If so, then it's gotta be something in the transmission or in the rear.

Ditto...

My everyday car did the same thing at start up. It just needed the trans fluid to get moving through it cause It was low on trans fluid. Added fluid and does not do that anymore. (except on very very cold days in the winter if I start it and drive away without letting it warm up a bit.)

car has about 120k on it, but engine has a little less then 90k. Trans fluid looks filled. cat was replaced with headers and exhaust. about 1.5 months old. Ive put it in 2nd( a4 car, blocker on 1st) and it goes a little better, but still feels dead.

I would take it to another tranny shop. Definately sounds tranny related.
