LT1 Emissions Question

i have a question regarding my emissions, the requirements in my area are that it has to be visually correct...i just bought a set of Hooker Super Comps, and the guy that had them welded the A.I.R holes shut, but the threads are still visible inside the tubes.....i was wondering if there was anyway that i could hook the A.I.R hose's up to the tubes and just un plug the smog pump..that pump isnt belt driven correct? if i am correct it is electric...would this mess with the EGR or mess up the way my engine runs in any way?

Re: LT1 Emissions Question

You could install as much of the AIR system as you want. The AIR pump is electric. On the 93-95 engines, all you need to do is unplug the pump, and make sure the fuse in the circuit is good. The pump will not operate, and you will not get an SES light, or a code. Couldn't affect the way the engine runs..... AIR only operates for a couple minutes at startup. With your header connections already blocked, there's no way it could affect the EGR or anything else.
