LT1 edit questions

I finally got it but now I'm a bit confused. Of course I want more
power and to tweek the WOT table but the questions are:

Are there any sources to for a tried and true stock motor
configuration or should I tweek on a dyno?

What is the best fan settings for power? 160 to match the thermostat or ?

I disabled the tranny diags. One was for slippage and one related to the VSS. It seems to have solved my "limp mode" problem at the track but it was very intermittent so I'm not sure. Was that the right thing to do?

Should I also disable the EGR and AIR pump? Kinda trivial and I
think I know the answer but I want to be sure before I break
something. LOL!!

I bought the expert editor, scan tool, and interface cable for about $300 total.

Yeah, I hear of too many stories of people dying because of senseless street racing.

Carputing.com

It's the ONLY place to get it, I think. There are a couple sources for the cables though.

do a search in the programming forum and consider joining the lt1 edit mailing list - http://www.lt1edit.com/mailman/listinfo/lt1edit

if you put in a 160 thermo - I'd drop my fan temps by about 25 degrees,

disabeling the egr and air will not increase power

Stock spark tables are fairly agressive and there is not much to tweak on a stock engine (other than thermo, tire size, idle and so on)

but your in good shape for doing some program changes once you add some power - heads, cam and so on.

Hope this helps

Yes it did, thanks. So I guess it'll really come into play when I upgrade the heads/cam.

It's great the way you can save your PCM config to a file and add comments. Well worth the investment IMO.

join the mailing list, it is very helpful!!
Removing those codes for the trans will not help with the limp home mode, the code has to be 'fixed' to some. The editor does nothing for this.

I have my fans set at 180ish.

for WOT tuning use the PE tables, I would set the PE/Cool table to 16 across the board and then use the PE/RPM table, usually 10 points translates to 1 AFR.

LJs site is very good to read thru: http://para.noid.org/~lj

Good luck and do not change anything that you can not explain to a buddy and him look at you and say 'Cool'!!

Email me if you need more info...
