LT1 Edit on basically stock LT1
LT1 Edit on basically stock LT1
Buddy is offering his LT1 edit for me to pull his tranny (and I assume to put it back in).
Now, would I be able to change anything useful with this, or is it a waste?
And how much is retail on one of these things?

You do know that you'll have to swap PCMs with him to make it work right? Or is he just getting an upgrade for you?
You can't do real time logging with lt1_edit, it's just for making changes to your program... unless he bought their "scanning" add-on that is.
Real useful program, but it takes a little time to get used to it/learn it.

Awesome program, I sold my 93 just to be able to use LT1 edit & bought a 95
hehe. On a stock car there are lots of gains, the stock tune is way too rich crusing & WOT, heck stock tune you're always at 108 blm while driving around, the simplest thing to do in LT1 eidt for a stock car is set the injector size to 27lb if you have 24lb injectors & you're almost always at 128blm while crusing & idle, & WOT is still rich, than you decrease the PE table a few points & you just gained RWHP, DRIVABILITY, FUEL ECONOMY

I would get it. I spent 3.5 years messing around with Ed Wright and had nothing but problems with knock. Mail order programs rarely work as well.
LT1 edit gives you the ability to make every change you want at no additional cost. You can get software called FREE SCAN and other programs to log data or you can buy DATAMASTER.
I had ED Wrights program for a long time and just had my car programed with LT1 edit and WOW!
You must remember that you need to know what you're doing to use it. I had someone else who does a lot of programming do mine I spent about 1k messing around mailing my program back and forth to Ed Wright. I wish I had purchased LT1 edit a long time ago.
Another friend of mine just got a cc306 to pass AZ Emissions with his own program.

well, his came with his car, he got a box with a few disk in it, and a cord that plugs into the obd port, and it connects to a box, then it becomes a serial cable.
what all do i need to make this work, i thought you just plugged in and started using.
any advice?

Just to let you know, you are much better off getting Tunercat if you have a 93-95 LT1. Not only is it cheaper, it will work on more than 1 car (Tunercat is not VIN locked, LT1Edit is, unless you buy the $2000 unlimited LT1Edit). Right now, there is no support for OBD2 cars, but they are in the process of making a definition file (96 or later cars). In my opinion, LT1Edit is waste of money. TC does more and costs much less (about $90 for the program and the def file).
I like both, for everyday changes I like the LT1 edit interface much better, but if there is something missing in LT1 edit I go do it up wiht tunercat, I can also save in tunercat as LT1 file & check it in LT1 edit.
