Good point. I removed the reference to forged. If I went to a forged bottom end, it would be over 400 cubes :-)

Hopefully your adjustments will reflect the dyno numbers.

I guess 'smogability' is a relative term. Forget the cam, the fact that it has longtubes makes it 'unsmogable' in most states.

The cam is designed to pass the sniffer, wether or not it passes the visual and other stuff is up to the inspection shop and what mods the person has. But since you guys look for any way you can to put down LE/BRE setups I guess its a wasted effort.

I was going to say the same thing about 1/2 hr ago, but I let it slide. Is it really worth arguing over? Do you really think he has clear proof on what states this would be legal in and or if the inspector cares as long as the car passes. Even in Ill. they don't check under the hood or use the mirror for the cats anymore.

Removing or relocating the catalytic converter(s) is a federal violation. Look it up. Sure, you can get anything to pass with enough 'motivation' or by finding the right people, but that's not the point.

These posts (I could give a rats *** about who's cam/heads/engine) really are misleading to many when they boast these numbers with the suggestion (or flat out statement) that it is a smog-friendly set-up. A hotcam passes smog with all the equipment in place, and makes better power with long tubes, as does any other cam, stock included.

I'm not putting down anyone (see post above), but questioning the smog-friendly claim in a car that is not smog friendly anyway.
